Emily
Having been here at CS nearly from the beginning, I have learned the importance of having a good support system around you as you work through healing from some of the really tough situations life brings. While CS has been invaluable to me for support for multiple abuses throughout my childhood and young adult life, it is the friendships that I’ve formed here that I will always treasure. I’m grateful to work alongside such a wonderful team here in order to create a safe space for all of us to grow and learn together.
Brina
Iām Brina. Nice to meet you.
Nane
Hi I’m Nane, I came to CS almost 10 years ago and I found it a place where I can just be without having to pretend everything is ok. I have also learned that life is more than surviving the next hour and healing is not an end in itself but there is a world of good things to discover. Having a bad day doesn’t mean that life is all bad but there’s another day ahead… and it’s (mostly) up to me to make it a better day.
Starship
Hi, I’m Starship (because I’m on a voyage of healing (and I’m a SCI-FI fan). I joined CS in 2009. I needed a safe place to talk. By safe place, I mean a place that is well moderated, non-judgmental, and set up for me to be able to avoid triggers when I’m vulnerable. CS is all of those things. Because of the trust that I was able to build here, I have been able to discuss topics that were too difficult for me to approach in other settings. Once I started talking, I was able to follow through and work on those sensitive issues in therapy. Jesus is the one who orchestrates my healing: He led me to therapy, to CS, to significant and supportive relationships, and he continually gives me opportunities to stretch my faith and trust him in the process.
