Be safe with the cold weather!

Hoping everyone stateside will be extra careful and be able to stay warm and safe with the polar vortex/Arctic blast. Looks like a long one with cold air sitting down a while.

My grandmother used to say, Whewie! A blue norther's blowing in!

it was 65 yesterday, today's high was 30. still not nearly as bad as some. the rain stopped here in time for us not to have any snow/ice. my son in KY has 8 or so inches of snow, followed by nearly a half inch of ice, then more snow all day, tonight and part of tomorrow. temps at or slightly below zero to come the rest of the week. ugh. we are to have a little bit of snow, maybe, this friday.

I know you're happy to not have snow and ice. Your son's area really got trounced! I hope nothing changes to become any more severe where you are.

we got our snow thursday night into mid day today. 9 or so inches! unheard of here. even though it's cold, it has been melting off somewhat from the hard surfaces...bottom up. it's to refreeze tonight. sigh. prob no mail til monday. this is the only place i've ever lived where they don't deliver mail for days, even when the roads clear...because of weather.

That is a heaping helping of snow! I'd have been stunned to see that much. That's also surprising about them completely stopping mail deliveries for a bit.

A lot of people in the area got snow, a few even enough to make some Little Snowmen , but where I am it really seems to have only been sleet and freezing rain. And I'm going to have to skip putting my trash out to the curb. The driveway isn't that long but when I looked out of the house in both directions there's ice still after some of it melting away in the afternoon. I'm not going to risk it.
