One good thing! Anyone can join in!

One good thing that happened today! My granddaughter ran into my arms when I picked her up from Daycare! Grandkids are a gift. I can play with them and then give them back! giggle.
    How about anyone else?

What is one good thing that happened in your day or recently?

It's wonderful that your grandkids bring you so much joy. I'd totally be one to spoil them rotten, then hand them back to mom. lol.

It was nice and sunny here today. On my walk, there are neighbors that have magnolia trees, and they're so beautiful in bloom. So I've enjoyed them. I noticed today that they're near the end of the bloom now, and probably with the rain coming over the next few days, teh blossoms will fall off. But they're so beautiful, and such a nice reminder of spring.

Yeah. I actually didn't think that magnolia would grow this far north. But apparently the University has developed a couple of varieties that are able to thrive here. I'd plant one or two myself, except we have shallow soil in our lawn, as there is limestone underneath. (We're close to the river, so there are limestone bluffs). And apparently they don't care for lime. So rather than having to work hard to keep them alive, I'll just enjoy someone elses. lol.

Sounds like a plan! What kind of flowers are blooming there?

There's not much blooming yet really. I don't have anything blooming in my yard yet. Though I expect my lilac will be in bloom before too long, and the spirea should, too. But we still could get snow. I think they said we may have a few flurries tomorrow night. Though it's not expected to amount to anything, will probably just be mixed with some rain. lol.

                  Oh yummy!

Ann, I remember you like lilacs. Ours have been struggling. I think it's the age of the plant. We're babying it and trying to rejuvenate it, and our tree guy has been checking on it every season, so hopefully it'll survive.

Ended up driving past a magnolia tree in bloom today. Though I didn't see it close up, catching a glimpse of those special blooms made me smile. I hadn't seen one in years!

All this talk about magnolias. I love them, although it is the opposite season here so none are in bloom right now. We have a huge magnolia tree which never produces flowers. The reason? The possums love to eat the leaves and seem to think its flowers are an extra gourmet treat.

Something good? Well, I love possums, especially the little ring tailed ones which have beautiful big eyes. Last night, my husband saw one in, yes, you've guessed it, our magnolia tree.

I think maybe our possums are different from American ones?

Not everybody shares my love of this particular bit of local fauna but I love a bit of backyard wildlife.
